Jet Nozzles
Jet Nozzles
Jet nozzles are designed for applications where the supply air must travel considerable distances before reaching the occupied zone. They are especially useful in expansive areas such as halls, assembly spaces, and other large-volume rooms where ceiling-mounted diffusers are either unsuitable or impossible to install. In such cases, jet nozzles are typically mounted on sidewalls to achieve the required air distribution.
As temperature differences between supply air and room air change, the airflow naturally shifts upward when delivering warm air and downward when delivering cold air. The airflow direction may also be influenced by convection currents or drafts within the space.
Jet nozzles serve as an excellent solution for delivering conditioned air where ceiling distribution is not feasible. Their long-throw capability makes them ideal for large open indoor environments such as convention centers, airport terminals, sports arenas, film studios, and auditoriums. They are usually positioned within walls, bulkheads, or column structures to maximize distribution efficiency.
Each jet nozzle can be rotated a full 360 degrees and tilted ±30 degrees from its central axis, enabling highly flexible directional airflow.
Selection Guide
-
Begin by calculating the total supply air volume required for the conditioned area, based on the heat load.
-
Determine the number of jet nozzles and their placement, taking into account the desired air distribution pattern and any architectural limitations.
-
Choose the appropriate jet nozzle model according to the required throw distance (8 m, 16 m, or 25 m). The terminal velocity values listed for each throw help identify suitable applications—lower velocities are recommended for quiet environments such as auditoriums or TV/film studios, while medium to higher terminal velocities are acceptable in airports, exhibition halls, and areas with more occupant movement.
